FÂVRO - "Inspired by Switzerland"

Since I live in Switzerland, the Appenzeller belt has always fascinated me : it is a belt of black leather where are riveted characters in chiseled brass. First, comes the shepherd followed by his cows, then a dog and sometimes some edelweiss.
I love this object which tells in pictures a universal story that goes from words to words. Those who wore this belt originally were those who cared for the cows.

Fâvro is a decorative piece of leather on which are riveted 3 forged forms: the hand, the fire, the hammer. This object represents my practice (between design, art and crafts): literal interpretation or imaginary space, I see the Human, Passion and Creativity. Fâvro in Vaudois dialect means “those who work metal”.

Material : leather, steel, copper.
Size : 25cm x 70cm + wall fixation.
