Faire le noir

"Faire le noir" in Affspace is Bertille Laguet's first solo exhibition. It shows Laguet's examination of black in products, objects, materials and pigment studies.

"Black is like silence," says Bertille Laguet. "Everything is never really black, there is always light somewhere, just like there is always a noise, even if it's just a breath."
For the young industrial designer, black means a constant rapprochement. She looks for it in the processing of steel and iron and researches it in her own studies. In her objects, black becomes a mediator between the earthly and the etheric, between the weight of the material and the light that the black surfaces absorb or reflect.
