CAROTTE STYLE SAPIN

During a week-long workshop at the Fablab in La Chaux-de-Fonds (CH),
eight artist-designers were invited to create tableware specially designed to accommodate the menu elaborated for the occasion by chef Loïc Gabus.

During the week, I was inspired by the History of the local ironwork called "Style Sapin" (means "Fir Style", a regional Art Nouveau) and by the surrounding nature.
The project was produced in collaboration with a 3D metal printing factory in Jura (CH).
I chose a pine cone and I hand-forged at my workshop a fir branch.
Then I use a 3D scanner to have the shapes digitalized. We printed the final shape (3D drawing for finishes) in stainless steel.

For the menu of the Chef Loïc Gabus, my skewer present the caramelized carrot
in a fir syrup and propose a regressive and playful way to eat it.

The tableware was presented in an exhibition space transformed into a gourmet restaurant. During the day visitors can discover the tableware, by reservation in the evening,
they can come to taste the dishes in the pop up restaurant.
The exhibition “à Table! " combines gastronomy, design, technology and know-how, and spotlighting the " Swiss made ".
